Abrazo Queer Tango stands in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and the movement to end violence and systemic racism against black people. All support and love for those flooding the streets in protest, demanding justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, and so many others.
We follow the leadership of black movements – here’s where you can donate and learn more.
We commit ourselves to confronting racism in tango and to center the often unrecognized black roots of tango.
We ask that we all extend ourselves to the black and brown people within our dance community and to the parents of black and brown children. We see you. We love you. Let us know if you need anything from us – we are a deeply resourced community.
Lastly dear kindred, we will continue to carve out a place for community to gather and for joy to reign.
Long live queer tango.
