Greetings dear dancers,
If a dance break would do you right, we’ve got you covered!
Over here at Abrazo, we have a line-up of virtual events in July that we hope will bring you a bit of joy: Sunday classes, our milonga with live music + live dance performances, and a steady stream of great playlists from our DJs Madeleine and Lily.
ZOOM is where the magic is happening

Tips on using zoom:
July 5 – July 26 | 3:30-4:30 (PDT)
With Mira Barakat
“In this drop-in friendly, all-levels virtual series, we will develop a theme in each class together, including strong personal posture and technique; ochos, pivots and giros; and exploring the reasons why we move and how we connect to the music. I will share some of my favorite topics and material from these months of teaching solely online. There will be time for questions, exploration, and dancing to great music from our wonderful Abrazo DJs!”
A new Playlist from DJ Mackerelmint
“Everybody’s a little wild in today’s list; even Canaro is sounding spry. I also tucked in a couple chacareras, since that’s what we’ve been working on most recently. Maybe those energetic cadences were running in the back of my mind and influencing the tone of the entire playlist — I wouldn’t be surprised!”
Saturday July 18th | 8-9:30 PM (PDT)
DJ + Live music sets from Mira Barakat and Itza Gutierrez! Live dance performance from Carlos Blanco and Rey Flores. A surprise panel — soon to be announced! And of course our birthday vals for our July peeps.
COST for all Abrazo events*
Sliding Scale for those who have stable and sufficient income: $5-$15 per event.
*All Abrazo events are free if your income has been affected by COVID-19. Please come as our guest.
