I’m so happy 2020 is about to be over. We are going out on a sweet high note my kindred, putting on our favorite queer tango track and kicking back.
Saturday December 19 | 8-9:30 PM (PST/ San Francisco)
Every 3rd Saturday of the month, we bring you queer tango talent and joy from around the globe, live music, guest lectures, artist, and dancers. We decided to go deep for December, seeing that 2020 was more than a little rough, and hope you will enjoy this sparkling group of queer tango magic makers.
Guest Musician: Itza Gutierrez (Canada by way of Mexico)
Guest Artist: Luna Beller-Tadiar (New York)
Guest Lecturer: Queer in Tango before Queertango: A Conversation with Lexa Roséan (New York)
Guest Performer: Anahí Carballo (Buenos Aires)
Invocation: Our very own Jurni takes us into a night of queer tango magic!
We will also take in a few surprises, a birthday vals and the sweet and true tunes from DJs Madeleine and DJ Mackerelmint.
Long live queer tango!
3:30-4:30 (Pacific time/ SF)
We offer you an hour, every Sunday, to take a break from the blah blah blah. This month, an international + hometown line up of teachers awaits you:
Dec. 6th : Mariana Docampo of Tango Queer Buenos Aires
Dec. 13th: Jathan Rafael Sánchez of Tango Queer Mexico
Dec. 20 and 27th: Miranda Lindelow of Queer Tango in the SF Bay Area
Our teachers have been so very creative and impressive in developing zoom tango classes: a mix of solo drills, exercises, musicality instruction, sequences to play with and move to + plenty of time to say hello and catch up with your tango peeps.
