Due to COVID-19 and the March 10th statement from the Alameda Public Health Department, we are cancelling our 2020 Festivalito with Gaston Olguin and the rest of our March events. ((http://www.acphd.org/2019-ncov.aspx.)
Though we are very sorry to cancel this event, a year in the making, we feel our first priority as a social dance community is to keep each other safe. There will be plenty of time to dance and come together again. We will of course refund everyone who has pre-paid for our festival. Gaston will give private lessons. Contact Dina: 321dina@gmail.com
A BIG ASK:
Please consider supporting our gofundme campaign to recover the loss of income for both Gaston and Abrazo. https://www.gofundme.com/f/queer-tango-festivalito-covid-19
We will split the profits 70/30 with Gaston to cover the cost of his flight (he came here from Buenos Aires on his own dime) and cover part of his lost income. Your donation will also ensure Abrazo can fund a 2021 festival—as the income from each festival funds the next as well as our weekly classes.
I want to thank Gaston so very much for coming back to the Bay Area —without a guarantee of income—to teach, work, dance and make magic with us. It is such pleasure to have such a talented, lovely teacher with us!
I also want to thank the Abrazo team: Frida for her constant support and encouragement, Sophia for being the most awesome Volunteer/ Work Trade Manager, Dina, Citabria y Andres, Sabrina, Ken, Lily and a gaggle of wonderful work trade wonders who were ready to make this festival rock.
HOW TO HAVE YOUR PRE-PAID TICKETS REFUNDED.
Folks who paid via check: we will not cash your check.
Folks who paid in cash: we will give it back to you
Folks who paid via Venmo: please send a request for a payment from abrazo-tango (Karen Curtis)
Folks who paid via EventBrite: please request a refund.
$199pass: https://festivalitoallaccesspass.eventbrite.com/?ref=estw
$210 pass: https://festivalitoallaccess.eventbrite.com/?ref=estw
Folks who can afford not to take a refund or a full refund: 1) Thank you very much. We will use this donation to pay Gaston and Abrazo at our pre-arranged profit split, as if our festival had gone ON!
If there is an issue, please email us: abrazoqueertango@gmail.com. We will take care of it.
This situation is evolving and changing quickly and we will be on contact soon!
As always, wishing you all the joy your heart can hold.

I’d like to attend two workshops, WS2 and WS6, as well as the practilonga, and all the milongas. I believe the total is 120.00USD. It looks like your Eventbrite link is only for the complete 199.00 pass. I can PayPal you 120.00, or if you can honor prices listed on your schedule now, I could pay cash at the door. Let me know. I’m looking forward to attending the festival this year.
Thank you. Susan
Hi Susan, thanks for your note. You can register at Abrazoqueertango@gmail.com and then pay when you arrive. So glad you can join us!
